It's been quite a week. All summer long, the August page of my calendar has been empty, save for one wedding and a weekend house guest. But now... Now, this month is overflowing with commitments, task lists, and those lovely little tornados known as "life changes."
We did a thing. We bought a house. A whole house. We walked through many doors with enthusiasm, and closed them just as quickly with an equal dose of discouragement. And then, we found it. And roughly twelve hours later we signed our names on dozens of legal jargin-filled sheets. We jumped up and down, and then, as the gravity of the event set in, we fainted.
Now, I am running my glazed, tired eyes over dozens of paint swatches and trying to talk Mr. Pedantic into this wallpaper. Back me up here.
Apparently, my spirit snack is Pringles and I am pretty okay with that. I will never open a can without thinking of my father who taught me the very important life skill of using two chips to give myself a pseudo duckbill.
How gorgeous are these cantaloupe daiquiris?!
Nothing will make your weekend better than these fried apple tacos. That's a promise.
I am doing everything in my power to keep myself from slipping into fall mode, but I'll tell you, the pull of the pumpkin is strong. Why do I have this inward battle every single year? I want to savor these last few weeks of summer, but at the same time, I am just counting down the days until I can bring out my cinnamon waffle-scented candles.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
