Hi there! What is on your weekend agenda? We are planning to kick it off tonight with a Christmas movie with family. Mr. Pedantic has a rather sickening load of finals due, but I am hoping to pull him away from his desk Saturday evening for some pre-birthday celebrating. During the day, I will probably be making my birthday cake (white chocolate cheesecake) and sipping on a few of these spritzers while he studies.
My Christmas baking has begun. In addition to making our gingerbread interpretation of the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal, I made this peppermint bark this week and a batch of those embarrassingly easy but ridiculously addictive Rolo/pretzel/pecan things. Next week will be sugar cookies and maybe some chewy molasses cookies.
This bark sounds and looks absolutely incredible.
I saw these incredible three-dimensional snowflake cookies on Adrianna's brown butter pecan snacking cake and fell in love! Snowflakes are always my favorite shape for Christmas cookies but I had never seen such delicate cutters before. I was so happy that she included the link!
These journals popped up in my inbox and I just about lost my mind. Even Mr. Pedantic was like, "um...you need those." I think he's right. I have been using these journals for a long time and I love them, but I am finding it harder and harder to keep it to one line a day. I think it's time for a change.
We had our first snowfall last weekend and it got me into the hot chocolate mood. If you are looking to go the extra mile with your cocoa game check out colonial-spiced hot chocolate, peanut butter hot chocolate, and coconut cream hot cocoa. We like hot chocolate around here.
I have all my Christmas shopping done, but I still need stocking stuffers for Mr. Pedantic. All I have so far is various forms of chocolate. I feel like it is extra difficult to find stocking stuffers for men. What do you put in your husband's stocking?
Happy, happy weekend!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
