Good morning! We are so weekend-ready.
I've got sunscreen in my purse, wet wipes in my car (for when I need to get my popsicle fix on-the-go), and my fridge is stocked with pretty bottles and big bowls of cut melon. June is lookin' fine.
Speaking of bottles...I had gotten into the habit of making myself big pitchers of iced coffee each week, but I just could not drink it fast enough, so I have found myself picking up a couple of the bottled iced coffees from Aldi's tucking them in the back of the fridge. It's so chintzy, but I kind of love them.
Despite the fact that I have been fighting a near-constant wave of nausea due to the warmer temperatures (thanks, fair skin), I am loving this season so much already. There's so much to appreciate about being able to wear pool cover-ups as dresses and sitting on inflatable slices of pizza.
In fact, I get on a happy high just from looking at the selection of pool floats that this millennial world has given us. I absolutely need a peacock float. That way I can at least look cute while sitting alone as all the children jump on my husband, because that is exactly what happens when we go to the pool. He's kind of a small-human magnet and I really don't mind because I'm pretty good at being Snack Lady.
I am very much over my pet phase and I'm quite content talking to inanimate objects around the house when I feel the need for conversation. A couple of months ago I really, really wanted a bunny so I bunny-sat to give it a trial run. In short, the little guy hated me and snuggled with Mr. Pedantic, I suspect solely out of spite. I'm over it. When I feel the need to be needed, or to have something to constantly pick up after I have a couple friends with toddlers that I can borrow for the day.
A few of these were spot-on, but then I got to the dishes entry and the "soothing warm water and the tickle of the tiny bubbles" and HA! Haha. Yeah, no. You're not convincing me to romanticize washing dishes.
How pretty are these bud vases? They have such a soft, vintage feel. I think I may have to make myself a couple.
Mr. Pedantic surprised me with this game earlier this week and of course I was all in. We turned on the Downton soundtracks and lay on the floor as the sun slowly set and it felt so...summery. We've also been playing board games on our patio and it feels sort of like being on vacation.
Rifle Paper Co. just made a meal planner so I obviously need to have it.
How ridiculously adorable are these birdhouses?! They look like such a fun project, especially for those fidgety dads in our lives. #Father’sDayiscoming
We are hoping to attempt a new restaurant this weekend and do a whole lot of hanging with friends. What's on your agenda?
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
