Once again, I'm hitting Friday like a brick wall and crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, and anything that can be crossed in hopes that next week will hold less insanity than this past week. Monday began at 4:30a.m. with the flooding of Norwyk Manor's front half. Let's say that my attitude was slightly less than virtuous. In a way, that flood was both a metaphor and an omen for how the rest of the week would go. I self-medicated with solitary hours in the confines of my closet and birth stories on YouTube.
On a less self-condemning note, I started this book this week and I already love it. Such good words of encouragement.
Yep, I'm sold. I know what I'm watching this weekend.
I am really intrigued by this vanilla rosemary latte.
The pumpkin candles have been bought and now I am just counting down the days until September 1st, when I can finally allow myself to light them. I could conceal it no longer, I am so ready for fall!
What are you up to this weekend? Tell me all the things!
Wishing you all a wonderful Friday!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
I am coming to you with a weekend project that is as delightful to make as it is to eat.
Sure, I might be a little bias considering that few things bring me as much joy as kneading, rolling, and manipulating dough into plump little golden loaves, but truly, this project is a fun one!
There are few things which resound more strongly of summer than the combination cake, cream, and berries.
If you come to my house, I will usually have cake. I might also make the very worst kinds of puns that only my husband could appreciate, or find a clever (read: awkward) way to insert a “You’ve Got Mail” quote into our conversation. But, as thanks for your expected appreciation of who I am, I will offer cake and, usually, a really good cup of tea.
In my head, which frequently makes up its own rules, Memorial Day weekend is the beginning of summer. No one really waits to declare the change of season until June 21st, do they?
I made a little thing that I have decided to call Easter Bread and I am pretty excited about it.

Company cake.
It’s what we’re making.
Let’s get into it!
