We have been back home for nearly a week now and the past few days have reminded me how much I love our little abode. Home is a happy thing.
Read moreTwo years ago today I almost forgot to say "yes" to the man kneeling in front of me. We were on a windy mountaintop, standing amidst the apple trees, and I did not quite know why I was crying. Eventually, I took a deep breath, whispered the word, and he slipped a diamond on my finger.

To celebrate this special day and honor the orchard where it all began, I have curated a list of my favorite apple recipes. I hope you are able to enjoy some cozy hours of baking this weekend.
APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS - It's not a suggestion, it's an obligation. Do it for yourself.
APPLE TURNOVERS - When you slide these steaming, buttery packages out of the oven every hour of pastry making will be made worth it. I promise.
BUTTERMILK APPLE CAKE WITH CIDER GLAZE - It's breakfast, it's dessert, it's your new favorite snack - it's the very best apple cake.
BAKED BRIE WITH CARAMELIZED APPLES - I almost did not include this one because the photography is SO bad, but the recipe is so delicious and one of our autumn favorites.
APPLE CIDER SLUSHIES - All you need is a couple ice cube trays and a jug of cider.
APPLE PIE SCONES - The perfect way to begin an October Sunday.
Happy baking, and have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie

A tale of recipe conception…
It had been a long day and all I really wanted was some quality couch time with the Bon Appetit test kitchen. Whatever plans I had in mind for dinner were soon diminished by more slothful desires for all things lazy and cozy.
I love that my generation has taken a hold of snacks and made them into not only a socially-acceptable mode of daily nutrition but a hallowed one. If you're not entirely sure of the current snack pseudonyms, see; charcuterie, tapas, tastings, flights…
